There’s a quiet but powerful phrase that’s brought comfort to many in times of pain, grief, or waiting: “This too shall pass.”
While this exact sentence doesn’t appear in the Bible, the heart of its meaning is echoed time and again throughout Scripture.
The Bible is full of reminders that trials are temporary, suffering has an expiration date, and God is always working behind the scenes—even when the storm seems never-ending.
From Genesis to Revelation, we see stories of people who faced dark valleys and unbearable moments yet emerged into light, healing, and hope.
For example, Job lost everything, but God restored him.
Joseph was thrown into a pit, sold as a slave, imprisoned, and forgotten until he rose to power in Egypt.
David cried out in anguish but always found his footing again in God’s presence.
Even Jesus, who bore the ultimate weight of suffering, was raised to victory.
The truth is, hardship never has the final word, God does.
And He promises to walk with you through the fire, hold your hand in the flood, and bring beauty out of brokenness.
The Scriptures below are living proof that whatever you’re facing today, be it sorrow, confusion, delay, or heartache—it will pass.
And on the other side, you’ll find growth, clarity, restoration, and new joy.

Our Thoughts on What the Bible Says About This Too Shall Pass
The phrase “this too shall pass” may not be quoted word-for-word in the Bible, but its truth is etched into every page.
God’s promises do not ignore our pain—they shine light into it.
They assure us that though the night may be long, morning is on the way.
That the valley isn’t your final destination.
That even in your deepest suffering, God is working behind the scenes to bring about redemption.
Whether you’re dealing with grief, financial hardship, mental exhaustion, or spiritual drought—remember, it will not last forever.
The God who parted seas, raised the dead, and rolled away stones is the same God who walks with you now.
So, take courage.
Hold on. Keep your eyes on Him.
The trial you’re facing will not define you.
Victory, joy, and peace are still ahead.
Say This Prayer
Lord, I come to You with a weary heart.
Some days it feels like the pain will never end, but I trust that You are with me and that this season will pass.
Thank You for every promise that assures me I’m not alone.
Strengthen my heart, renew my hope, and help me wait with faith.
Let Your peace guard my mind and Your Word guide my path.
I believe that You are bringing beauty out of these ashes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
