Our Thoughts On What the Bible Says About Wisdom And Understanding

Modern culture confuses education with wisdom.

Universities produce smart people who can’t navigate basic life decisions successfully. Intelligence solves equations. Wisdom solves problems that have no equations.

The Bible says respecting God is where wisdom begins. This offends people who think wisdom comes from human achievement alone.

But history shows brilliant people making catastrophically foolish choices when they ignore God’s design for how life works.

Wisdom is practical.

It’s knowing when to speak and when to shut up. It’s understanding which battles matter and which don’t. It’s making choices today that you won’t regret tomorrow.

Ask God for it. He gives it freely.

Say This Prayer

Father, I need wisdom beyond what my education or experience can provide. Give me understanding that comes from You, not just from collecting information.

I ask for wisdom like James 1:5 promises. You give it generously without making me feel stupid for needing it. Teach me to respect You as the beginning of wisdom. Help me follow Your instructions because they work.

I pray for discernment in daily decisions. Show me when to speak and when to stay quiet. Give me judgment that protects me from foolish choices. Let wisdom enter my heart and bring joy.

Make me humble enough to receive correction. Keep me teachable.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
