Proverbs distinguishes between planning that honors God and presumption that ignores Him. Committing your plans to the Lord doesn’t mean waiting passively for lightning bolts of direction. It means bringing your ideas, ambitions, and strategies before God in prayer, seeking His wisdom, and remaining flexible when He redirects. The biblical model involves both human initiative and divine sovereignty working together rather than competing.
Consider how Jesus told parables praising those who used their resources wisely and multiplied what they’d been given. The servants who invested their talents received commendation, while the one who buried his out of fear faced consequences. God expects us to steward our gifts, pursue excellence, and maximize opportunities rather than coasting through life claiming we’re “just trusting God.” Faith that produces nothing isn’t biblical; it’s fear dressed in spiritual language.
Joseph’s dreams seemed audacious and even arrogant to his brothers, yet God planted those visions and ultimately fulfilled them in ways nobody expected. Your dreams might feel too big, too specific, or too ambitious to share with others. But if God placed them in your heart, He’s capable of bringing them to pass.
