Our Thoughts On What the Bible Says to Artists and Creatives
The Bible makes clear that God values beauty, skill, and creative expression. He didn’t just create a functional world; He made it beautiful. He didn’t just give Bezalel the ability to complete tasks; He filled him with the Spirit of God to make artistic designs. The implication is profound: creativity isn’t frivolous or secondary to “real” ministry. It’s a legitimate expression of God’s image in us and can be a powerful form of worship and service.
What’s liberating for creatives is understanding that excellence matters to God. The craftsmen who worked on the tabernacle weren’t told to slap something together quickly. They were called to create beautiful, skillful work that reflected God’s glory. Your art, writing, music, or design isn’t less valuable because it’s not evangelism in the traditional sense.
