Your strength runs out. You hit walls you can’t break through, carry burdens too heavy for your shoulders, and face battles you can’t win on your own. The challenges keep coming, and your reserves keep depleting. You’ve tried harder, pushed longer, and dug deeper, but sometimes human strength simply isn’t enough. When your best efforts fall short and your willpower crumbles, you need access to power beyond yourself.
The Bible reveals a God whose strength never diminishes, never wavers, and never runs out. His power created galaxies with a word, holds the universe together, conquers death itself, and is available to everyone who asks. God’s strength doesn’t supplement our efforts when we’re doing pretty well. It shows up most powerfully when we’re completely depleted, when we stop relying on ourselves and start depending entirely on Him. His power is made perfect in our weakness, working most dramatically when we have nothing left to offer.

Our Thoughts On What the Bible Says About God’s Strength
God’s strength is not just quantitatively greater than ours but qualitatively different. Human strength depletes with use, requires rest to rebuild, and has clear limits. God’s strength never diminishes, never needs renewal, and has no boundaries. He spoke the universe into existence, holds all things together by His powerful word, and His arm is never too short to save. When we talk about accessing God’s strength, we’re talking about tapping into infinite, inexhaustible power.
What challenges me most about God’s strength is how it works contrary to human intuition. We think strength means independence, self-sufficiency, and never showing weakness. God’s strength works through dependence, operates most powerfully in our weakness, and shows up when we acknowledge we can’t do it ourselves. Paul learned that God’s power is made perfect in weakness, that boasting in limitations creates space for Christ’s strength to rest on us.
The most encouraging truth about God’s strength is its availability. It’s not reserved for spiritual giants or extraordinary circumstances. God offers His strength to the weak, the weary, those who have no might. When you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and out of options, you’re in the perfect position to experience God’s power. His strength isn’t a reward for being strong but a gift for those who admit they’re not.
Say This Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come to You completely depleted. I’ve tried to be strong, to handle everything, to power through in my own strength, and I’ve hit the wall. I have nothing left. I’m weary, overwhelmed, and facing challenges that are beyond my capacity. I need Your strength because mine has run out.
Thank You that Your power is made perfect in weakness, that You don’t wait until I’ve got it together to offer Your strength. Help me to stop trying to be strong on my own and to learn what it means to be strong in You, to draw strength from Your boundless might.
Be my refuge and strength, my very present help in trouble. When I’m weak, remind me that this is when Your power can work most freely. Give me strength for today’s battles, endurance for the journey ahead, and power to do what You’ve called me to do.
