Scripture reveals that self-sabotage often stems from believing lies about our identity and worth rather than trusting God’s truth about who we are. The Bible consistently shows that God’s plans for us are good, His thoughts toward us are loving, and He has equipped us for success in His purposes. When we operate from these truths instead of from past wounds or negative self-talk, the compulsion to sabotage our own progress loses its power.
What’s particularly powerful about the biblical approach to self-sabotage is that it addresses the root causes rather than just the symptoms. When I’m tempted to sabotage what You’re doing, remind me of who I am in Christ rather than who I used to be.
