A Lifestyle of Joy, Prayer, and Thanksgiving
Paul gives three simple instructions that have the power to reshape an entire life. Rejoice always. Pray continually. Give thanks in every circumstance.
These commands are not based on the assumption that life will always be easy. They are rooted in the reality that God remains faithful regardless of changing circumstances.
Joy is not the same as temporary happiness. Happiness often depends upon favorable situations. Joy grows from confidence in God’s unchanging love. Even during difficult seasons, believers can rejoice because Christ has secured a hope that suffering cannot destroy.
