Sometimes God Changes You Before He Changes the Situation
One of the hardest prayers to pray is this:
“Lord, change me while I wait.”
Most people naturally want God to remove discomfort immediately.
We ask Him to change the situation, fix the problem, open the door, or end the delay.
But many seasons in life are not only about external outcomes.
They are also about internal transformation.
And often, God works inside a person before He changes what surrounds them.

People often pray for elevation while resisting the process that prepares them for it.
But Scripture repeatedly shows that preparation matters deeply.
Joseph experienced prison before leadership.
David experienced wilderness before kingship.
Moses experienced obscurity before the assignment.
God frequently develops character before responsibility.
Thursday Is Often a Day of Internal Friction
By Thursday, emotional tension sometimes rises quietly.
The week feels long.
Certain prayers still seem unanswered.
Fatigue begins affecting perspective.
And this is where many people become frustrated.
Not because God has abandoned them, but because growth rarely feels comfortable while it is happening.
The Hidden Danger of Constant Complaining
Complaining changes spiritual atmosphere internally.
It trains the mind to focus only on what is wrong.
Eventually, gratitude weakens.
Peace weakens.
Perspective weakens.

Notice the phrase day by day.
Growth is often quieter than people expect.
What God May Be Building in You Right Now
Perhaps this season is developing:
Greater patience.
Deeper trust.
Emotional discipline.
Spiritual wisdom.
Dependence on God instead of self reliance.
Not every important transformation is visible immediately.
A Different Prayer for Thursday
Instead of praying only:
“Lord, remove this.”
Perhaps also pray:
“Lord, teach me through this.”
That prayer changes perspective completely.

God does not waste seasons when hearts remain teachable.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being patient with me even during seasons where I struggle to understand Your process. You see every frustration, every delay, and every hidden area where growth is still needed within me.Help me not to waste difficult seasons through bitterness, impatience, or constant complaining. Teach me what You want me to learn while I walk through uncertainty and pressure.
Transform my thinking, strengthen my character, and deepen my trust in You. Let this season produce wisdom, maturity, and spiritual stability within me.
Give me grace to keep walking faithfully even when growth feels uncomfortable.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
