Romans 15:13 links them explicitly: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Corrie ten Boom demonstrated this in Nazi concentration camps. Her faith that God remained good despite Ravensbrück’s horrors produced peace that shouldn’t have existed in that environment.
That peace strengthened her faith to endure when circumstances screamed that God had disappeared.
You cannot maintain genuine peace without faith because circumstances will eventually destroy peace built on anything less stable than God’s unchanging character. You cannot sustain faith long-term without peace because unrelenting anxiety eventually exhausts belief.

Without peace, faith becomes white-knuckled effort exhausting believers through constant anxiety about whether God will come through. That’s not biblical faith operating from trust.
