Faith is currency you can’t see, spend, or stockpile. You can’t measure it in your hand or verify its balance on a statement. Yet it purchases what money never could: peace in chaos, hope in darkness, strength in weakness, and assurance when every visible indicator screams otherwise.
Here’s the peculiar thing about faith: you discover you have it only when circumstances demand you use it. When life is smooth, faith feels academic, theoretical, something you acknowledge but don’t actively need.

Our Thoughts On What the Bible Says About Faith In God
Faith in God isn’t believing He exists. Demons believe that and tremble. Real faith is trusting His character enough to obey Him when obedience makes no logical sense, to follow Him when you can’t see where the path leads, and to rest in His promises when circumstances contradict them.
Scripture presents faith not as a feeling but as a decision. Abraham believed in God even when his body was as good as dead and Sarah was barren. Noah built an ark when rain had never fallen. Moses led the people through a sea with walls of water on both sides. None of them felt particularly faithful. They simply chose to act on what God said despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
Your faith grows not through trying harder to believe but through knowing God better. The more you understand His character, His faithfulness, His track record, the easier it becomes to trust Him with what you can’t control. Faith isn’t a blind leap into darkness. It’s stepping confidently into the unknown because you know the One who holds it.
Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. Not because He’s difficult to please, but because approaching Him requires believing He exists and rewards those who seek Him. Faith is how you access everything God offers.
Say This Prayer
Heavenly Father, I want faith that actually trusts You, not just faith that acknowledges You exist.
I believe in You intellectually, but I struggle to trust You practically. When circumstances get hard, my faith wavers. When prayers go unanswered, I doubt. When I can’t see what You’re doing, I question whether You’re doing anything at all.
Your Word says the righteous live by faith, that without faith it’s impossible to please You, that everything is possible for one who believes. I want that kind of faith. Not perfect, but genuine. Not impressive, but real.
Increase my faith. Help me to trust You with all my heart instead of leaning on my own understanding. Strengthen me in my faith so that I’m rooted and established, not tossed by every circumstance. Let my faith grow from knowing You better, from seeing Your faithfulness proven over and over.
When I’m tempted to doubt, remind me of Your character. When fear threatens to overwhelm faith, anchor me to Your promises. When I can’t see what You’re doing, help me to trust that You’re working anyway.
I choose to live by faith, not by sight. To trust Your word more than my feelings. To believe Your promises even when circumstances contradict them. Fix my eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith.
